 Perth Royal Show 是一年一度,為期1週的活動. 這個活動超過百年的歷史, 已成為 Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia. 通常都是在春假舉行 (either the last week of September or the first week of October) 每年吸引大約 500,000的人潮.

當地的友人們幾乎都介紹說這種小孩的活動,沒啥看頭,票價又貴! 這種說法令我一直深信不疑,直至去年,看過小豬家的玩樂照片後,說甚麼今年都要威脅小豬,絕對不能放我們鴿子!

Perth Royal Show 跟Melbourne Royal Show 類似(OS:墨爾本的Royal Show is the best show), 特色是informational exhibits, agricultural competitions and display animals, a fairground and rides, and showbags. 尤其是showbags which became part of Australian shows as an advertising gimmick, are now sold at $2 to $65 each and contain a number of cheap novelty toys and candy. Showbags are related to a particular candy product, television show, brand name (e.g. Coca-Cola), or may be ‘jumbo’ bags containing a number of brands (e.g. ‘the Mighty Mammomth’ bag). They are a focal point of the Show for many younger children. 小朋友在學校裡的同儕壓力,都會未演先轟動,相互詢問要不要去Royal Show, 要買哪一款的Showbag等.

重點是"預先看好氣象",挑個好天氣入場.

為了看晚上9.00的煙火,準備在園裡待上12小時,這幾天要好好鍛鍊一下體力! (In 2006, the Show will again open from 9am to 9pm every day with Sideshow Alley staying open until 11pm. Please note that most pavilions are open from 9am to 9pm however times do vary.)

Tickets are available from the following outlets prior to the Show:

  • RAC - from 8 August (10% discount for members)
  • HBF - from 4 September (10% discount for members)
  • Woolworths Supermarkets - from 11 September

Please note: To obtain discounted RAC and HBF tickets if you are a member, you must visit either an RAC or HBF branch.

Brownes FREE for Kids Day

If you're under 12 years old, grab an empty litre carton of Brownes milk or a 600ml/750ml Brownes Chill and present it at the gate for free entry on Wednesday (October 4) to celebrate Brownes FREE for Kids Day. Don't forget to recycle your cartons in the Brownes' bins inside the gates.
